Winter hiking Salzburg

White hiking dreams off the beaten track

With comfortable walks or extensive, romantic winter hikes - along a total of 35 km of winter hiking trails, you can fully enjoy the sportive off-piste offers in the cold season.
Whether a leisurely footpath through Hüttschlag's valley head, a hike to the Loosbühelalm that requires a little more fitness, or the challenging variation via the Bergstrasse – there is no shortage of attractive possibilities in Großarl. Whoever packs the toboggan can comfortably glide down the mountain again. The traffic-free, 3.5 km toboggan run that is illuminated at night is the ideal family fun area. Younger guests are often particularly fascinated by the exciting torchlight hike through the winter forest.

The Grossarl Valley and its 12 side valleys can also be easily explored on touring skis. Numerous routes lead to the surrounding mountains, from which you have magnificent views of the Salzburger Land’s mountain panorama. A snowshoe hike through the most beautiful places in the valley is an equally splendid activity.

Guided tours, where trained Berg Gesund guides provide participants with technical and safety assistance, are offered to beginners as well. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require further information!

For those who prefer winter sports with tactics and company, the popular curling offer is the ideal choice (only 100m away). Here you can quickly make new acquaintances and enjoy nice conversations with other guests and locals. Skill and empathy are the main requirements for this sport. Families also like to use the ice-skating rink in the Sports and Leisure Centre to complete their fun winter activities.
