Hiking Holidays in the Grossarl Valley
Since 2010, the Grossarl Valley has carried the Austrian Hiking Seal of Quality, only given to specially chosen regions. Around 400 kilometres of marked hiking trails wind through the "Valley of Alpine Pastures" and up the surrounding mountains to its many cosy alpine chalets and pastures.
The free hiking shuttle stops at the starting points of some of the area’s most popular hiking routes. In summer, the cable cars transport hikers up to where they can hike from chalet to chalet and enjoy the area’s beautiful surroundings. Even kids have tons of things to do: there is plenty of adventure to be found in the mountains around Grossarl and many alpine animals are looking forward to meeting you.

Climbers will also find plenty to do on their climbing holiday in the Grossarl Valley: the mountaineering town of Huettschlag offers 3 excellently prepared via ferratas and the "Bella Cascinaia" on the Saukarkopf Mountain in Grossarl treats climbers to beautiful views of the Hochkoenig and Dachsteinmassiv Mountains. Mountain climbers can discover additional interesting routes on the Arlspitze Mountain.
